Is the extension free?
Yes. Install costs nothing, and the free tier gives you 10 transcripts a month with no credit card. Paid plans unlock higher volumes and team features — same account as the web app.
Does it work on Edge, Brave, or Arc?
Yes. Any Chromium-based browser works: Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera, and Vivaldi. Install from the Chrome Web Store and it lands in all of them.
What data does it collect?
Only the URL of the video you click Transcript on — and only when you click. No browsing history, no background tracking, no ads. See the privacy policy for specifics.
Is there a Facebook extension?
Not yet. For Facebook videos, paste the URL into transcriptmagic.com/facebook and you'll get the same transcript, summary, and translation toolkit.
Will this slow down YouTube / TikTok / Instagram?
No. The extension only runs when you click the Transcript button — it doesn't touch the page or your network until then.
Do I need to be signed in?
Not to try it. The free tier works without an account. Sign in when you're ready to sync credits, history, or upgrade to Plus.
